F.P. Journe Reveals The Unique Tourbillon Souverain Bleu In Tantalum For Only Watch 2015

Tantalum is the case metal of choice in the Tourbillon Souverain Bleu, featuring a reflective blue dial, resulting in an notably unique edition by F.P. Journe for Only Watch 2015.

F.P. Journe turned to the most basic of his timepieces, the Chronometre Bleu, for inspiration for the unique tourbillon created for Only Watch 2015. The Tourbillon Souverain Bleu has a tantalum case and a vivid blue mirror-finished dial, just like the Chronometre Bleu, which is the beloved timepiece that's the most affordable in the F.P. Journe collection. Despite the entry-level inspiration, the result is stunning.

Introducing The Patek Philippe Ref. 5016A-010 Grand Complication In Steel For Only Watch 2015

Patek Philippe has put together an extraordinarily desirable combination for Only Watch 2015: the discontinued Grand Complication Ref. 5016A in steel, fitted with a deep blue enamel dial.

One of the most impressive and subtly beautiful grand complication wristwatches Patek Philippe has ever produced (photographic proof here), the Ref. 5016 was in production from 1993 to 2011. But for Only Watch 2015 the Geneva watchmaker has resurrected the reference as the Ref. 5016A-010, with a case in that fabulously collectible alloy steel, and thrown in a blue enamel dial with white gold appliqué Breguet numerals for good measure.

Tudor Unveils One Of A Kind Heritage Black Bay One For Only Watch 2015

A one of a kind timepiece made for charity auction Only Watch, the Heritage Black Bay One is modelled on the regular production Black Bay, with a special dial and bezel inspired by the reference 7923 dive watch of 1954.

EXCLUSIVE: Patek Philippe To Increase Retail Prices In Hong Kong And Singapore Come July 1

In a surprise (or not) move, Patek Philippe will increase the retail prices of its timepieces in Hong Kong and Singapore on July 1, 2015, reversing the price reductions it implemented in February.

In a move that caused equal amounts of hand-wringing and glee, Patek Philippe cut its retail prices around the world in February 2015 after the Swiss franc surprise. Prices were reduced by between 3% and 7% in various markets, though weak local currency in Europe and Japan meant the prices there rose. The rationale was to ensure geographical parity in prices around the world.

On July 1 that will go into reverse, with retail prices in Hong Kong and Singapore rising. Other markets may also see similar price adjustments.

AUCTION WATCH: Antiquorum To Sell Patek Philippe Nautilus Once Owned By Yakuza Boss

At Antiquorum's upcoming Hong Kong sale, a diamond encrusted Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3800 with an unusual history will go under the hammer. Gifted to a Yakuza boss, this Nautilus is hardly the typical auction house offering.

As provenance gives a watch character, then this Patek Philippe has it in spades. As a watch it's garish but also rare: a yellow gold Nautilus ref. 3800/108, the most heavily bejewelled reference of the mid-sized Nautilus. This one is entirely set with diamonds, plus three ruby baguettes for the hour markers.

Even more unusual than the watch itself is its past ownership; it was originally gifted to Jiro Yanagawa, a Japanese underworld boss whose notorious life was later documented in print and film.

Eight years ago a collector approached Vacheron Constantin with a commission, codenamed Project Tivoli, to create the most complicated watch ever, one that would supersede the Patek Philippe Calibre 89 which has held the title since 1989. Since then Atelier Cabinotiers, the department at Vacheron Constantin responsible for bespoke timepieces, has been working on the pocket watch, known within the company as "Grand Oeuvre". It is now almost complete, and will be presented to the public on September 17, 2015, exactly 260 years to the date that Vacheron Constantin was founded.

Hands-On With The Slim d'Hermes Perpetual Calendar (Plus Original Photos, Price)

The flagship model of the new Slim d'Hermes line, the Perpetual Calendar is equipped with a refined Vaucher movement and a calendar module designed by noted movement designer Jean-Marc Wiederrecht.

Introduced at Baselworld 2015, the Slim d'Hermes has a distinctive look despite being clean and simple. The base model in the collection is the strikingly original automatic, but launched alongside was the Slim d'Hermes Perpetual Calendar, one of the few such complications offered by Hermes.

The Slim d'Hermes Perpetual Calendar has the same polished appearance as its simpler brethren. The sum of its parts are far greater than the individual design elements: a beautiful custom font created by graphic designer Philippe Apeloig, polished and frosted hands, and angled lugs that echo the wire lugs on early wristwatches.

It has an unconventional form typical of MB&F, along with a driver's watch type vertical display, but presented in a less elaborate manner than its pricier siblings.
